About Us
MetroMash make posters of urban transit maps - translated literally, whimsically, questionably or even belligerently into English. Sometimes other things too.
Why? For fun and happiness. Definitely not for navigation.
We started on Etsy in 2012 with just one map (the "Copenhagen S-Train Map in English") before deciding that no city should be safe from our linguistic liberties. Thus was born MetroMash: a cutting-edge research lab for modern discoveries in cartography. Now we're proud to offer a range of cities, and we're growing our collection all the time.
MetroMash was created by Barrington Russell, a British designer who got stuck in Copenhagen waiting for a tea shipment that never came. He's getting a little bald but thinks the accent makes up for it. Partners in our adventure are Latin design wonderwoman Jimena Azula, Swedish imp Jakob Ronander, and Canadian illustrator Christina Carrigan who's more talented with her hands than we'd care to mention.
We're chuffed as nuts when you talk to us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter.
HAPPINESS GUARANTEE!
We want you to be happy! If you're not, please let us know and we'll fix it immediately! With your poster, we mean. The rest of your life is in your hands only.
